MEMBER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn provide our members, and their families with a free, voluntary and confidential counselling service. Counselling is a process where issues can be explored, reflected upon and challenged in a safe, supportive and trusting environment. This may assist in the prevention, early intervention or resolution of personal, family or work issues - before they start to affect your work or volunteering performance.

The Society has an arrangement with Marymead CatholicCare Canberra/Goulburn to provide up to three one-on-one counselling sessions, free of charge, per financial year.

They can assist you to deal with issues such as:

  • workplace conflict – resolving conflict and building better communication skills
  • anxiety  – manage work and life practices and to build self-care
  • critical incidents – counselling during trauma to decrease ongoing effects
  • workplace transitions – decrease the stress associated with changing roles
  • depression – increasing job satisfaction, productivity and effectiveness
  • relationship difficulties – support with family issues that may impeding your work
  • parenting issues – provide you and your family with a space to have a discussion
  • separation or divorce – support to help deal with the end of a relationship
